Dogs in school grounds

Parents and visitors are reminded that dogs are best kept out of the school grounds and especially around other children.

Most schools have a similar expectation.

This is because some of our students are fearful or uncomfortable around dogs, big dogs can at times be threatening or dangerous if jumping, dog excrement is sometimes not cleaned up; and some people suffer allergies related to dogs. Occasionally there have also been problems with dogs getting noisy or difficult to control if they encounter another dog in the school which is then distressing for everyone, especially the little kids.

Recently, a child here was bitten by a dog during morning drop off time.

We want everyone to be safe.
