Road Safety

When driving your children to and from school, we require your full support, attention and cooperation.

Our local streets are very busy before and after school. While we cannot change the local streets, we can review and modify our driving habits and patterns in the interest of road safety and the safety of our students. Please drive extra slowly when using our local streets; avoid double parking in the set down areas and be mindful of safety at all times.

Do not encourage or allow your children to run across the road to you in a parking situation. If you can, please review your set down and pick-up times. If you have no pressing engagements, please consider arriving a few minutes earlier in the morning or a few minutes later in the afternoon.

After school, staff members will supervise the Augusta Street and Trulson Drive zones.

Congestion occurs from 2:50pm – 3:20pm every school day in our surrounding streets. Please consider collecting your children five or ten minutes later and that should improve the overall traffic flow and safety of our students. Students waiting for collection are supervised until around 3.20pm at the front gate, at which time they are escorted to the office.

Parents are advised to comply with the parking and road regulations that apply to our local streets, and to exercise patience, caution and cooperation. Officers (TMR and QPS) monitor this area regularly, sometimes without notice and will enforce traffic rules and regulations if required.

Please take care in order to make drop off and pick up a seamless, stress-free and a safe time for all of us.

Verbal abuse of other drivers and road rage in front of our children is out of order and will not be tolerated by our community.
